Nowa Ziemia 2  - Adrjanczyk / Banasik / Krychowiak (CD Zoharum)

Two lengthy excursions through a meshing of subtly shimmering textures, rolling banks of electronic fog, stabs at cosmic churn and occasional rhythms that sound like they’ve been borrowed from Muslimgauze. Everything is in the right place but ultimately sounds rather perfunctory and ordinary, like so much such music does these days. When listening to albums of this nature I invariably find myself yearning for a surprise that never comes. The sound of no ambitions can barely be better exemplified. RJ
